Hip Hop Intensive

A one-week high-energy dance intensive for the beginning to intermediate level hip hop dancer!
Kids Musical Theatre Dance

Through a combination of Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern, students will learn exciting dance combinations set to their favorite Broadway tunes!
Stretching, Toning and Conditioning for the Dancer
July 29 – August 2, 9:00AM-12:00PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 8-12
Tuition: $120
This class is open to dancers of all abilities who are looking to improve their flexibility, stamina and tone their dancer’s body in this one-week body makeover designed to help dancers dance stronger, LONGER! This class includes extensive stretching, exercise and dancing with weights.
Teen Musical Theatre Dance

Come join us for a week full of Ballet, Tap, Jazz and other styles of dance seen on the Great White Way! This camp is open to all abilities, and will be tailored to fit the needs of the group!
Ballet/Modern Intensive

For the intermediate to advanced dancer, this week-long intensive dance class is designed for the serious high school dancer looking to get whipped into shape before going off to that college dance program, or back to regular classes after taking the summer off.

Guitar Ensemble (Beginner)
June 17-21, 9:00AM-12:30PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 2-6
Tuition: $150
This week-long intensive is for the beginning guitar student, with little to no experience playing the guitar. At the end of one week, students will have some basic note reading and rhythmic abilities and be able to work as a group to play a song. Perfect for the student interested in starting guitar lessons!
Guitar Ensemble (Intermediate)
June 17-21, 1:00PM-4:30PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 7-12
Tuition: $150
This week-long intensive is designed for the guitar student with at least one year of private or group instruction. Students will work together to learn ensemble songs for the performance on the final day of camp.
Musical Instrument Petting Zoo
July 1-3, 9:00AM-1:00PM (Three Days, Monday – Wednesday)

Have a musical young student who wants to get started with an instrument but they’re still not sure what they want to play? Look no further! This three-day program will allow your little budding musician to try a wide variety of instruments including piano, drums, guitars, strings, woodwinds and more! This program does not have a final showcase performance.

Teen Scene Study

Working in pairs and small groups, students will work on skills such as character study and development and working as an ensemble.
Young Actor’s Toolbox
June 17-21, 1:00PM-4:00PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 3-6
Tuition: $120
Students will learn how to use their basic tools as an actor: the body, mind and voice. A perfect camp that can either serve as an introduction to acting, or to polish up a student that already has stage experience!
Improvisational Theatre Intensive
June 24-28, 2:00PM-5:00PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 7-12

A one-week introduction to improvisational theatre: long form, short form and musical improv. This is one of our most popular camps!
Acting for Film
July 29-August 9, 9:00AM-4:00PM (2 Weeks, Monday – Friday)
Grades 7-12
Tuition: $475, Includes a DVD copy of the finished film
In this two-week class, students will write, produce and act in their own short film. At the conclusion of the camp, students will be provided with a fully-edited finished DVD of the film, which will be presented to them at a public screening of the work at the Enzian Theatre on Sunday, August 25th at 1:00PM.

Pop Star
June 17-21, 9:00AM-12:30PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)

Your young singer or dancer will love being transformed into a Pop Star in this one week camp suitable for both boys and girls! Students will learn songs and dance combinations to their favorite, age-appropriate pop songs!
Glee Club
June 24-28, 9:00AM-12:30PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 3-6
Tuition: $150
Do you love those Glee Club inspired shows on television? Then this is the camp for you! In one week, students will learn songs and dance routines to some of their favorite songs!
Auditioning for Musical Theatre
July 1-3, 1:00PM-4:00PM (Three Days, Monday – Wednesday)
Grades 7-12
Tuition: $95
This three-day workshop will include master classes on appropriate auditions techniques for the Musical Theatre. Students should come prepared with a memorized one minute monologue and 16 to 32 bars of two contrasting songs. The last day of class will include a complete mock-audition where students will leave with feedback sheets from each adjudicator. There is no final showcase performance for this program.
Christmas in July
July 22-26, 9:00AM-12:30PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)

We LOVE the Holidays! So why not celebrate them twice a year! This one-week camp will put together a Christmas-themed musical review, complete with Christmas trees and snow right in the middle of the 90-degree central Florida Summer!

Modeling Boot Camp
June 10-14, 9:00AM-2:00PM (1-Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 7-12
Tuition: $450
In partnership with Cassandra Images and experienced casting and talent agent Autumn McFadden, this one week intensive course will cover skin care, makeup, hair, posture, walking, modeling poses, on-camera auditions, slating and more! The cost of this camp also includes a personalized comp photo shoot with one head shot and two body shots!
Stage Combat Intensive
June 10-14, 9:00AM-1:00PM (1 Week, Monday – Friday)
Grades 8-12
Tuition: $200
Students will learn the basics of fight choreography for the stage including hand-to-hand combat and simple weaponry. Students should come dressed in comfortable, loose clothing.

Students must have their own sewing machine or make arrangements to borrow one for the week. In this exciting one-week camp, students will select a character from a play and complete a full costume piece for the character, from design sketch to finished product!

Audition Technique and Monologue Workshop with Beth Marshall

Work with award-winning producer and director Beth Marshall in this 3-hour master class. Students will learn appropriate and effective audition techniques and receive tips and feedback on selecting the perfect audition materials. Please come to class prepared to work on at least one complete monologue.
The Business of Show Workshop with Michael Cairns, Wet Orange Studios

If you’re new to the entertainment business and need to know the right way to get in or just scratching your head wondering why things aren’t happening faster, then check out our highly respected “Business of the Show” Marketing Workshop. We’ll give you information that you have to have to make it in show business. Also, find out what image you’re projecting to casting directors, agents and others who are in a position to hire you during our in-class audition. The registration fee includes hand-outs, agent mailing labels and a door prize good for $100 in studio bucks.
Summer Session Private Lessons
Private instruction in vocal and instruments music, dance and acting are available 6 days a week in the summer, Monday through Saturday and are available in packs of four or six lessons. *Pricing for Tim Evanicki’s studio is slightly higher. General Policies
- Take any two half-day camps in one week to make a full-day and take $50 off your tuition! A lunch room will be provided to eat between your camps!
- Registration Deadline for all camps is May 15. Registrations after May 15 will incur a $25 late registration fee per camp.
- Early Bird Registration! Register and pay for your camps before April 1, 2013 and receive a 10% discount off your tuition!
- Before Care and After Care is available for $5 per hour from 7:00AM – 5:30PM each day. Care must be arranged with 24 hours notice and paid in advance.
- Starving Artist Studios reserves the right to cancel any program if minimum numbers are not met. This cancellation will happen no later than 14 days prior to the start of each program and a full-refund or tuition credit will be dispersed.
Payment Information
- 25% Deposit due at time of registration.
- 50% of Tuition due by May 15
- 100% of Tuition is due 7 days before the start of each program.
- A post-dated automatic credit card payment arrangement must be made if not paying for the camp in full at time of registration.
- No refunds for any reason if you need to drop after you have registered. It may be possible to credit payments to other programs if you drop before the start of the program.
